The Gaudreau site is located on the western shore of the St. Francis River, across from the outlet of the Salmon River, about 1 kilometre from Weedon, and about 54 kilometres from Sherbrooke. The sector belongs to the geological and structural province of the Appalachians. It is located on one of its plateaus facing southwest and northeast. The soil developed on a base of limestone and slate covered with glacial deposits.
